Queen Munchkin here;
I am slowly getting used to bob working from home again. He lets me stay in the room with him as long as I don't bother him. I generally just lay on the old computer chair and nap while he is working and if I decide I want out I go to the door and he opens it for me.

Depending what Bob does, you might be able to doze in his lap. If you like laps, that is. If he is working, he really can't put you out the door or scold you very much.
